I have a 1994 LX Auto. The piston rings blew so a local shop wants to replace the motor with an exact same motor w/ about 40k miles on it, timing belt, water pump, crank seals, probably a few more things and include a 6 month warranty for $1300.

Does that sound ok? i'm about to pull the trigger so a quick response would help lighten the load off my shoulders of thinking i'm getting ripped off.

parts & labor its not that bad of a price. if the are doing the timing belt, water pump and seals and what not.

still costly i would DIY if i were you

They are doing everything... They said the motor was $550 and the swap cost was $500... so the extra $250 is for everything else... parts i'm guessing.... i really trust this shop as i've used them for years before for multiple cars.

Thats really not a bad price. At all.

Back in the day when my 7y motor blew up i didnt know ****, Nor did i know my friends that i have now, Anywho i got quoted almost 3500 to put a new D series motor in my car.
But for 1300 installed with 40k on the motor is a fair price, To me.

Cool, Thanks IfIExplode. I think i'm going to go along w/ the swap... maybe i'll just sell it right away since it has a 6 month warranty haha... wonder what these go for..

that's not bad for a shop price if you don't know how to do the swap yourself...
i say go for it...
