99 civic... I just got this and was used to the older charging systems with no LOAD sensor... Im wondering if you would put in an older alternator and remove the load sensor? or is it not that easy?

no, why would you wanna take the load sensor out? is it bothering you lol? Even if you take it out the ecu also has a load sensor. so your screwed old timer lol.

well for car stereo and accessory issues, this AWESOME charging system puts out voltage only under a decent load, I have to turn my fan on atleast 2 or turn my parking lights on to get it to put out anything over 11.9 volts and my amp wont even turn on. the old style is more consistent and reliable. If I took out the load sensor and put in an older alt. i think it would charge fine

Strange, my 99 civic doesn't do that. Even without any load it outputs 14.16V. I think your alternator/voltage regulator might be screwed. As far as I know the 7th generation civic introduced the dual voltage like you're talking about.

ya, 11.9 volts? thats almost running off your 12v battery. daam, get a new alternator and inspect your belt. somethings wrong their. you probably wore the alternator out with the amp. once you change it it will be no problem. And i know what alternators your talking about. i worked on a truck to 1979 chevy pic up and the alternator had a clip that held 2 wires on it. one black one red, as simple as that. lol ours has like 22 wires and a huge clip.
