Alternator Problem Thanks!
Ok so my batt light when on on my way home. Lights dim slowly but surely and my first thought duhhh alternator.
So i parked the car and waited until today to go see if i can go pick another one up.
Now i turn on the car for ***** and giggle and the light is off and my alternator starts chargin my batt again and its all good. Drive for about 30 min and then the batt light goes on again and batt starts dieing.
All my grounds are fine, my connections are good, but i was just wondering if i can still check for something im missing or not even bother and get an alternator (dont really want to drive a million miles to get my old one)

This seems like a common problem lately here on H-T. Everybodys alternator is crapping out. Have you alternator checked for output(if it can come out of the car, it would help). If the alternator checks OK, check your wires again for bad connections or shorts and make sure the battery is in good shape. Try to voltage drop test the wires if possible. If that checks out, your ELD could be having a fit.

do your interior lights get really bright sometimes? I would also check to make sure the 10 mm nut on top of your alternator is ther and/or tight. Also check belt tension.
