Which Alternator for poor man's type r
going into 93 del sol.
have a gsr bottom end and a 99 civic si head. will be using the del sol wiring harness to keep it obd1
question is
do i use any obd1 b serires alternator or does it have to be a vtec one?
was not able to find this answer in any of the threads

lucky for you... i just ran into those problems... i put an obd2 type r in my del sol http://members.cardomain.com/egcivicdelsol and i converted it to obd1 for my liking. So i used the obd1 single vtec wiring harness... i just went and got an obd1 LS alternator which works fine. So you're going to need a B series Obd1 Alternator, doesnt matter if its rs ls gs gsr or what have you... its just needs to be obd1. The plug on obd2 is way different. i picked mine up at a local wrecking yard for $40.00. Good luck with the swap.
