alternator over-charge...UGHH!!
hey all, i could use some help or advice or tips if anybody has any for me
i have a 93 del sol with 1.6L sohc vtec. the alternator over-charged..very badly. it shut off and stalled while driving. the battery was exploding and seeping and foaming and all sorts of terrible stuff. i have replaced the battery and alternator. cranks but no start. fuel pump does not come on and i get no spark. all fuses are good. i checked the main-relay, and it was good. (also swapped it with another used one just to see). i put a new (used) computer in it. still no fuel pump and no spark. the dash lights up all like its supposed to. cranks normal. i checked the whole ignition system, thinking the spark and fuel could be two separate issues. but everything checked out; i used All Data to pull up testing specs on the ignitor and coil, everything was good. coil tested at .9ohms (spec was .6-.8) does the new computer need to be reset or anything?
anybody have any other ideas as to some things to check? they could be separate issues, but im guessing they are the same...something fried somewhere. just not sure what else, i feel like i checked everything. any help is much appreciated. thanks!
