Default Alternator for a civic any advice?

Hey all i'm getting ready to try and install an alternator in my 1998 civic LX (4dr). Does anyone have any words of wisdom. Any good tips? Any "surprises" that i should know? any help is greatly appreciated.

There's not a single tensioner in the alternator system on a 1998 D-series Civic .

so i need to go from the bottom? that really isn't going to be "fun" is it? also about how long will it take? so now i have to go get some jack stands. also do i have to remove the halfshaft or no? i plan on doing this on monday or tuesday.

i got it out by driving the car up some short ramps so i could fit under it and then jacking it up. if you get it up high enough the axle drops just barely enough to get it out from under the car. otherwise to take take it out from the top it looks like you have to take out a bunch of stuff.
