How hard is it to replace an alternator in a 99 lx sedan civic looking to get more power to drive my subs.

it isn't hard it is only 2 bolts and when you get the bottom bolt out, kinda hit the alternator sideways a little and it should come right out.

more than likely you have an 80 amp alternator right now on it, so you might be able to get a 100 or 110 amp one for around $120-$150

I'm pretty sure you can ask the guys at autozone or advance if they have a bigger one.
