Default Alternatives to factory wheels (guide)

I know I saw a topic in the last couple of months asking what other types of factory wheels will fit our Honda's. I ran across a site today that may help us out so I wanted to post the information here. (note- some information may be incorrect, they listed the bolt pattern for a civic as 5x100, but the rest of the info has been correct) Here is the site I was getting this off of, also, some of the sizes listed may not be sold as factory wheels, the guide is one for after-market applications, I was just looking for the spacing, hub size, and offset.

http://www.xtremetna.com/wheel...e.htm

Here are the specs for our factory wheels-

14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 56.1 195/60x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +35 mm 56.1 205/50x15

Now, I have found a few other manufactures that have the same bolt pattern, but the hub needs to be larger, in theory, you should be able to bore them out to fit on the Honda hub.

Disclaimer- I have not personally tried this, so if it does not work, I apologize and please post the information here for others to use.

AUDI - VW
Audi 4000S (80-84)
Cabriolet (92-94)
Cabriolet III (95 +)
Corrado G60 (89-92)
Fox (All) (87-93)
Golf II & III (85 +)
Jetta I (81-84)
Jetta II & III (85 +)
Passat 4 Cyl (90 +)
Rabbit (76-81)
Rabbit Conv. (80-91)
Scirrocco (76-89)

The listed information is
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 57.1 185/60x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +40 mm 57.1 195/50x15
15x7 4x100 mm +40 mm 57.1 195/50x15
16x7 4x100 mm +40 mm 57.1 205/45x16

So you can see the listed hub here is larger. But I have heard of people using older VW rims on a Honda, if anyone can confirm this that would be great.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
BMW
318 (84-91)
325 E-30 (84-91)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
15x7 4x100 mm +20 mm 57.1 205/55x15
16x7 4x100 mm +20 mm 57.1 205/50x16
16x7.5 4x100 mm +20 mm 57.1 205/50x16

Not sure on these, same pattern but the offset is really off, but that may also be due to how BMW lists their offset, worth a shot if anyone has some lying around. Also same goes for the hub size, same as the VW though.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ford/Lincoln/Mercury

Ford Escort (91 +)

Mercury Tracer (91 +)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
13x5.5 4x100 mm +38 mm 54.1 175/70x13
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 54.1 185/60x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +40 mm 54.1 195/50x15

The spacing and the pattern is the same, but the hub is much smaller, not sure if you could make these work. The factory wheels might not like being bored out that much to fit our hubs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Isuzu

Impulse (91-92)

Stylus (91-92)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 56.6 195/60x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +40 mm 56.6 205/50x15
15x7 4x100 mm +40 mm 56.6 205/50x15

The hub is just larger on these, not sure if they make stuff to change the hub size to smaller
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kia

Sephia (94 +)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
13x5.5 4x100 mm +38 mm 56.1 165/70x13
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 56.1 185/60x14
14x7 4x100 mm +35 mm 56.1 185/60x14

these would work with no modification to the hub, might be good for those looking for steelies? Otherwise rock those factory kia rims
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mazda

323 (90 +)

GS (92 +)

Miata (90 +)

MX3 (92 +)

Protege (90 +)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
13x5.5 4x100 mm +38 mm 54.1 175/70x13
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 54.1 185/60x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +35 mm 54.1 195/50x15
15x7 4x100 mm +40 mm 54.1 195/50x15
16x7 4x100 mm +40 mm 54.1 205/45x16

Another candidate for boring out. I have seen pics of miata wheels on a Honda, so I know this should work.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mitsubishi

Mirage (93 +)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
13x5.5 4x100 mm +38 mm 56.1 175/70x13
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 56.1 185/60x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +35 mm 56.1 195/50x15
15x7 4x100 mm +40 mm 56.1 195/50x15

Another ones with the same size hub, should work in theory.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nissan

200SX (95 +)
NX1600 (91-93)
NX2000 (91-93)
Pulsar (87-90)
Sentra All (86 +)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
13x5.5 4x100 mm +38 mm 59.1 175/70x13
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 59.1 185/65x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +35 mm 59.1 195/50x15
15x7 4x100 mm +40 mm 59.1 195/50x15

Larger hub, so not sure if this would work.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturn

SC Coupe (91 +)
SL 4DR (91 +)
SW Wagon (93 +)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 57.1 185/70x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +35 mm 57.1 195/60x15
15x7 4x100 mm +35 mm 57.1 195/60x15

Again, a larger hub.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Suzuki

Esteem (95 +)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
13x5.5 4x100 mm +38 mm 54.1 175/70x13
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 54.1 185/60x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +40 mm 54.1 195/50x15

Smaller hub, bore the baby out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Toyota

Celica (86-91)
Corolla (89 +)
FX16 (87-89)
MR2 (86-90)
Paseo (92 +)
Tercel (89 +)

Wheel Size Bolt Pattern Bkside Off Set Hub Bore Suggested Tire Size
13x5.5 4x100 mm +38 mm 54.1 175/70x13
14x6 4x100 mm +35 mm 54.1 185/60x14
15x6.5 4x100 mm +40 mm 54.1 195/50x15
15x7 4x100 mm +40 mm 54.1 195/50x15

Again, smaller hub, anyone want to try?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That looks like all this site had listed. I hope that some of you find this information interesting. I personally have more cars to look at now when trying to find replacement wheels.

Edited and Added-

His list does contain some factory wheels. Hope this helps.
</TD></TR></TABLE>
I took a look, the information is good to have.

Comments and corrections welcomed.

Are you talking about the mazda millennia wheels (9 lbs, pretty sweet!)? Those are going to be 5x114, good for people with type r conversions. If you know of any of the above that look like HX rims, please tell the rest of us

i've tried 2000 Toyota MR2 Sypder rims on a civic. Doesn't fit without boring out the hub. Rims were 15x6 and 15x6.5, five spoke design.

BTW, good info.

There is a thread about Miata wheels I just found:

Looks like some machining is needed.

Where did you find the information on Kia having a 14x7? I have searched high and low for this information, and have found the largest stock Kia Sephia wheel to be 14x6. If you have a definitive source on that one I'd be a very happy man (as I'm sure would others!)

edit: ah, I see your source. I found that site in my search, didn't realize it was your source. oops. that is the ONLY site that says 14x7, I think they are talking about wheels that COULD fit, as opposed to stock wheel sizes.

Thanks

Yeah, the site is not good for listing actual factory wheels sizes. If some of you out there know what actual figures are, I would be glad to update any information at the top of the page.

oh, and about the miata wheels, i do realize that machining is necessary. if you look at some of the comments i posted, some of the others may have to be machined as well.
