Alternative OEM exhaust help...
Well, I really wanted to get an alternative exhaust to the factory one on my civic. I have a 1996 civic dx hatch. My question is, is there any exhausts that show gains over the factory civic one but are still oem exhausts? Ones that I have seen so far that look like they might perform well are the S2000 exhaust and the 2003 Accord EX Single muffler style exhaust. Not the one that angles down but I have seen some models that have a oval madalion looking muffler and its painted black. From the dealership that way. But if you have any reccomendations for other OEM exhausts or pictures of them on a civic or something, that would help a lot. Well, please help

Re: Alternative OEM exhaust help... (kay_animation)
The reason I don't want to go to a grapefruit shooter is because:
1. They can be really lound a times when you don't really need them to be
2. They usually hang really low and scrap on the driveway sometimes.
3. My engine and exhaust system is completely stock. Installing a huge exhaust on a completely stock engine will throw the balance of the engine off. Thats what I think.

Yes the Si\SiR, was not aware that it was any diff then any other Civic Exhaust, do you have any proof? Is it wider or something?

Re: Alternative OEM exhaust help... (B16A2-EM1)
Well my old DX had skinny *** piping and a pee shooter style muffler. I swpaed a 99-00 Si one and trust me there is a diffrence, think about it D15 exhaust would not be used for a B16 Si so why would it be the same.

i'd look for either a used si or integra type r exhaust for your hatch. they will not fit with out modification. if u do a quick search there are quite a few posts on the subject of fitting the si or itr exhaust onto the hatch.
