almost hydrolocked???
yesterday coming out of a movie, my and my boy find a thunderstorm right above us. Since I have a cai I decided to wait it out cause of flash flood warnings and puddles. We wait it out and on the highway in 5th gear with the ac on the car just losses power. I thought first fifth gear popped out so I tried to put it back in all the way and then the car dies on me. I pull over with suspicion of hydrolocked (even though it was just a moderate rain) and call my boys up with tools. We took out the plugs and crank it over and only steam came out and nothing more. I drive home and everything is fine. What could of happen that cause my car to just die and lose power?
sorry for long post

Re: almost hydrolocked??? (Lil Corb)
It's really hard to hydrolock an engine in just rain or a couple puddles. You really have to hit some water for it to happen.
Could have been bad gas, bad coil, water in the dizzy, gnomes went on strike... lots of things.

Re: almost hydrolocked??? (delScho)
that does sound strange...but high doubtful it was hydrolock in the rain conditions u were tellin us about. just do a thorough check on ur whole car...and u should be fine.
