Default ALLIGNMENT?

this weekend i drove the freeway for a while and i noticed that on some parts my car feels very shaky, like the car is about to spin out. im thinking it was the wind but it shouldnt be that bad. could this be because i need an allignment?

also, is it true that getting an allignment done could scratch your rims because of the machine? do you guys switch to steelies just to get an allignment?

as long as the tech is competent enough, putting the sensors on yours wheels will not scratch them. they have special tips they can swap to so they dont scratch.

extra shakieness could be from a bad alignment, or a bad suspension part, or just an unbalanced tire. check your tire pressure too. you'd be amazing of how many cars come in for alignments, and all that is wrong is low tire pressure.

correct, just tell them to be careful w/ your wheels and they should take the extra step to use the tips that clamp from the outside. if its a vibration its most likely tires, but if you need an alignment get one, but dont plan on it fixing your shaking problem.
