for all of you with engine swaps.
Im debating a swap really soon. Did you guys (with swaps) save up your money and pay in cash, or were you able to charge it on a card and pay monthly..and which would you recommend? Any input that has to do with answering my questions would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Re: (SpoonFedHatch)
ITR swap...line of credit. I had the money I just didn't want to drop that much coinage on a motor.....I wish I did though because now its become a real bitch to pay off.
My wife's JDM B16A or SIR-G motor will be cash.

LOL.....yea interest rates can be a bitch.....in the end you end up paying for a motor and a half depending on how bad your rates are
I paid cash, best way to go. At first i felt very guilty spending that much, but now i look at it as an investment, and my baby only deserves the best...lol

i saved up enough for my hatch and my swap. i bought my car and two weeks later, i went to pick up the LS conversion. both paid for in cash. it was a good feeling.

Interest rate isn't that bad (under 10%) but still that was a lot to borrow. I'm kinda pissed I didn't just drop the money on it but @ the same time it alowed me to do other stuff. I'm done paying my car note this summer so I'm going to use that money and pay off the motor.

thanks all for your responses...an overwhelming number of you suggested that i do it in cash, so we'll see how that turns out. But if i cant stand my d15 after a while, im going with the card...you all know how frustrating a d15 can be...or maybe not. Anyways, thanky ou for your responses, and rev safe!

Cash, imagine how shitty it would be your car got stolen and you were still paying off a swap. Its not a bad purchase if you wanna build credit, but imho its better to set aside a bit each check.

cash, I thought I had enough, but I had some big problems like injectors, distributor, alternator, throttlebody and all the sensors. Some ended up on the card.

I understand, the crappiness of the D15 can make you want to do crazy things.
