Default All you EG B18B owners!

Hey, well here's my question to you. I just got my B18b installed with a lightened flywheel, and it revs it fast!! I love it. My question to you people is what kinda mods would you recommand for me? I will be doing vtec later on, possibly next season, but for now I want to do a few mods that will increase power and that i won't have to change when I get the vtec added. Or just in general what would you recommend?

JG intake manifold and a custom 2.5 inch exhaust with 2.5 inch hi-flow cat and straight-through muffler (I reccomend Magnaflow). When you decide that turbo is more important than VTEC y0! you'll be glad you did this.

I already have a muffler, but what, you would suggest turbo over vtec?

Turbo, will definetly be faster than just going Ls/Vtec. Avg. gains off going Ls/Vtec is around 20hp. Where as with turbo, and your current setup..you can hit 12's easily..

not to mention, it will be alot tougher to do Ls/Vtec. and I dont know one person who hasent had a rebuild on an Ls/Vtec setup for that matter. I would say unless you are planning on going turbo on the LS/Vtec motor..then I wouldnt even bother...plus on a stock ls block you cant really take adavantage of the setup..because you cant rev high enough to really get big power gains.

so if your gonna use the stock block go Ls/Turbo

if you plan on building it, then go Ls/Vtec Turbo,or all motor...depending on if you want boost or not!

See the thing is I had a GSR tranny put in cause at the time I was leanning more towards ls/vtec, now I kinda want turbo, so my tranny is no good.

Its much easier to change out the Gsr Tranny to an Ls tranny, then to go Ls/Vtec just because you have a Gsr Transmission...and its not like you cant run turbo because you have the Gsr tranny either..it is all preference, but the facts are...if your going to go Ls/Vtec,your gong to be slower than Ls Turbo.

atleast as long as your on stock block. and non Turbo on the Ls/Vtec setup

i wouldnt even bother with the LSVTEC.....i want to go with boost, but first i am going to give it my all with the all motor. i would say to go with some crower cams , that JG intake mani with and bigger TB. intake of course and header/cat/exhaust. i love my LS motor, but the GSR hatches always whip me. But all the B16 hatches are NOT much faster. I have only seen one B16 hatch down here that will whip me(ill phil). But not to many swaps here in SA

I am dropping in a LS into my 95 civic this weekend and I can't wait. I also bought an 8 pound flywheel and I want to know from those of you that had the stock flywheel before was it worth the extra money? I bought it because I am doing a ACT clutch setup and wanted to do one down the road when I get the turbo. Any thoughts?

i have an EG and i had a b16 turbo set. It was fun but just wasnt worth the turbo headache. When your turbo, you never know. My car was fast as hell boostin 14 PSI, ****!!! but now, Im LS/VTEC around 11.5 cmpression, skunk2 cams, etc... and i love it. ofcourse I miss turbo but my car is almost just as fast as it was when it was turbo, HONESTLY! but now I dont have any headaches about what might go wrong.
