Default All of my cars brake lights stopped working, need to fix asap

The lights work it is just when I press the brake pedal they don't come on. There is a loose green wire under the dashboard but I can't find where the other end goes.

Probably to the brake light switch, located on the top part of the brake pedal at the firewall more than likely. Thats probably where it goes. I will see if I can pull a schematic on the coloring.

The end of the green wire that's connected is with a group of black wires

im guessing your green wire goes to a brake switch (as mentioned above) just keep searching under there you can find where it goes

if i'm not mistaken the green wire is your brake wire..or it could be a green/white...one or the other

Ok IM a trial user so I can only post 5 posts a day, so I will make them worth it.

Here are 3 pics of the green wire under the dash near the gas pedal IM talking about, these are the best pics I can get, notice how one end is connected and the other isn't I need to know where the other end goes, so if someone has a 92-95 civic can you please look under to see where it goes. I looked really good under the dash but can't find it.

yeah that looks like a relay for maybe an alarm, or foglights..something not oem installed on the car.. as for your brake light problem, see if your horn works if it doesnt you have a blown fuse.. it'll say stop/horn..
if the horn works, looks at your brake pedal assembly to see if the pointer is there that goes into the brake switch when the pedal isnt depressed.. alot of times they brake cuz they are made of plastic it happened to me so i just rigged it with a bolt and nut

I looked at the fuse graph and I don't think EGs have brake fuses? I looked for the brake switch and couldn't find anything.

don't 4get there are 2 fuse boxes
1 under da dash and 1 under da hood
open your trunk and have a buddy sit in the drivers seat and hold down the foot brake. you go into the trunk with a tester of some sort (preferably a digital multimeter) and test your wires in the trunk. if u DO have power at the back of the bulb then u know it's the bulb if u DO NOT have power there, you have a problem between the fuse box and the bulb

ALL honda's have a fuse that shares circuits between the horn and the brake lights..therefor if your horn doesnt work its most likely the fuse.. so check to see if you have power on both sides of the fuse with a test light.. for the Original Poster that cant find the brake/horn fuse or the switch the fuse is in the underdash fusebox and the switch is at the top of the brake pedal assembly get underneath your dash and look straight up you will see it.
now there should be a pointer plastic piece that goes into the switch when the pedal is not depressed if that piece is missing or broken you need to replace it i have a feeling this isnt going very far

if you can get to the horn wire right by the horn with a pair of regular wire strippers and touch ground..if the horn goes on it's not the fuse
then again sometimes a fuse LOOKS ok but if you test it sometimes it's otherwise

thanks you guys, it was the fuse under the hood. I never even knew there was fuses in there. My horn stopped working like 3 months ago, which means that is when my brake lights stopped working Even when the cops pulled me over for speeding they didn't notice that my brake lights didn't work Thanks to a fellow driver when I was in Long Beach which let me know And thanks jdeemseerx and jz98ctr for helping me out and jz98ctr I couldn't respond to your PM because IM a trial user.
