Default ALL-MOTOR set-up....

i am planning on hitting constant mid 13s with my EK. i would like to do this with full interior and on street tires (azenis or paradas). i have an internally-stock B18C from a JDM Integra SiR-G.

what kind of aftermarket camshafts and support would you recomend me using?

Toda Spec A or B?
Skunk2 Stage 1,2, or 3?
Jun 1,2, or 3?
other good names?

what valvesprings, retainers, etc. should i use with the set-up?

thanks guys.

You should be running mid 13's with what you got. I would recomend a skunk2 intake manifold, then some skunk2 stage 2 cams and their valvetrain or the toda spec c's. Then a really nice header and nice exhaust and you gotta have a nice cluth and flywheel. You should be running low 13's with that setup after some practice driving.

WHAT!?!? Did i here that correctly? I just got done swapping my jdm gsr engine with a skunk2 intake mani, short ram intake, and a apex ws exhaust. On street tires i expect to run low 14's high 13's and thats in an EH hatchback. On slick you will be able to run mid 13's, but definetly not on street tires with your current setup. Wow there is definetly alot of misinfo that goes on here

HUm mis info my ***. I know of 2 people personally that have stock B16's with I\H\E and they are runing anywhere from 13.9 to 14.1 on street tires. So if you cant hit mid 13's with a motor that has more horsepower and more torque than you cannot drive. 96-00 dx hatchs weigh in at 2250 so thats plenty light to get into 13's.

You should be able to run 13's with even just CTR/ITR cams. I dont think jun cams or todas are nessesary.

Im running 14.3 with just gsr with 97spec R cams/Valve springs, aem, and a bent to hell cheap dc 4-2-1 in a 4 door! civic dx untuned i might add. Im also rolling on aziens So you should def hit at least high 13's

I still stand by my statement...here's just some food for thought........B18C5-EH2 aka TOM's best run is a 13.3 with an itr motor in an eh hatch on street tires. I will try and find the post he made with his mod list, but i know he has more than bolt-ons. This guy is no slack driver either, so if he is running low 13's with an itr motor in a hatch, I highly doubt you will hit mid 13's with the setup you have now in your ek.

he is right! a stock b16 only hits high 14's. who ever said that it is lower is a liar. so with a the motor your talking about, you should expect lower 14's. and always go oem parts if possible, so ctr and itr cams are better. they fit better and are easier to tune, cheeper too.

He has bolt ons. Its a 92 CX hatch, ITR swap w/ I/H/E. On slicks he ran 13.3@101mph w/ a 2.0 60'. If he had had a 1.8 60' on his last run, he would've been very high 12's.

Whoops, sorry i thought it was on street tires, WELL that further proves my point then.

Thanks for the correction man

ok guys all of you who are telling this guy that he can not hit 13's with what he has right now are def the ones lying.

check NSXMATT.....he has a eg hatch with all stock B16....intake,header,exhaust,and ecu......ran 13.9 on more than one occasion
again a guy i know here in nashville with again stock B16...intake,header,and exhaust....ran 14.1 on more than one occasion

so with that being said.....if you cannot hit 13.9 or better with what you have now...something is very wrong

here is a link to matts post with all his times
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=480393
and also futurefrank running 14.1 with near the same setup.....
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=495529

so again dont tell me it cant be done

Expect low 14's with your jdm b18c motor.

One thing that I think is missing here: Not every car/motor and track/driver are the same. Times are going to vary. The only way to know for sure if he'll hit mid 13's is to test and tune.

Listen to this man, he knows what he's talking about. Each car/setup, track, track conditions are DIFFERENT. Times will vary.. Some of you guys put too much emphasis on 1/4 times..

Don't forget suspension helps improve 60ft times which play a big part in those extra half seconds that get u from 14 to 13.5

back on topic.............id go w/ skunk2 stage 2, skunk2 gears w/ portflow springs and retainers, i feel that would be the best bang for the buck....otherwise just go w/ the CTR cams amd ITR springs. the skunk stage 2's are similair to the JUN 3 so no point in spending the extra 4-500 on JUN just for cams....also get rid of the stock exhaust mani if your gonna go w/ the bigger cams such as JUN3 or Skunk stage 2, all that w/ tuning u shouldnt have a problem hitting the mid 13s. i would also pick up a FPR and clutch. dont forget about tuning

SI-G93 expect a better time...wit ur mods and if u drive correctly ull be seein mid to high 13's...i mean my friend owns a Teal Green 92 Dx hatch wit a stock GSR motor, intake, and a Type R exhaust..13.8

I just got done swapping my jdm gsr engine with a skunk2 intake mani, short ram intake, and a apex ws exhaust. On street tires...........u should be running a 13.8 13.9 if drivin correctly....i mean i even seen Integra Type R drivers wit jus a intake hit a 14.2 14.3 and that damn good...so anythings possible jus depends on ur experience

I suggest doing the basics of course which are the I/H/E and then look into the Skunk2 Gen 2 Cam Shafts...I've heard nothing but about them.
The Toda Spec C's are also a killer though....A Nice set of titanium valve springs and retainers from Skunk will set this off nicely also..

Get a lot of practice because thats basically the main part when you are trying to reach a goal...Don't get cheap with the internals either lol...

Good Luck!
