Are all brands of O2 sensors the same? Are any of them better than others?
Well, I need a primary O2 sensor for my car. Of course Honda wants a little over $400 and the parts store can get them for around $200. I have been told there is a "universal" one available for less than $50 and just searching the old threads in classifieds and such I find ones such as NGK and Bosch for $40-$100. My question is, is there really a difference? Are any of them better or worse and are these "universal" ones a bad idea. I was told they were but wasn't given a reason.
And while we are on the subject I have also seen wideband O2 sensors for around $100. Are those beneficial in any way on a NA motor and does it need anything else to work properly?

i had 4 of those ******* in my car and every time i put it in i got a new CEL different one's sometimes too. so i was like WTF im i doing, i though, and so did the guys at the parts store, that i was a fuckn fool. so i took it to a freinds shop he hooked it up same ****.
i went to http://www.oxygensensors.com i think, if you search under my username you can find a post i made about the bosch units. (they don't come with instructions) and there is a link to a place online that sells PnP replacements and OEM replacements. i would have goten it at kragen but they wanted 300 bucks for it and it was only like 135 on that website

I had problems with the Bosch as well. Some people have used them and had them work fine, but mine kept throwing the 02 CEL until I got another Honda one.

Re: (Ricey McRicerton)
I would go OEM.... Every time I've needed one, I've taken the $25 gamble for a used on from a junk yard. (since I have had several bad experiences with "universal O2 sensors".
