Adjusting the INNER tie rod? You are supposed to adjust the outer.
edit:
1 - loosen the nut and outer tie rod.
2 - hold the outer tie rod end stationary and spin the shaft that connects the tie rod end to the rack until you're within spec.
3 - retighten the nut and you're done.

Well I test drove it and it seems like I had the alignment perfect anyways. I mean the wheel is straight and if I let go it doesnt veer either way. I mean the chance of this is like getting struck by lightning. Is this possible? Or am I overconfident and I probably still need an alignment? I mean before I rebuilt my suspension and steering I was holding the wheel like 3/4 of rotation to keep it straight. Now i got it dead center and it veers neither way. Was I blessed by the alignment gods or what?
