Default Alignment after drop?

My 96 EK had cut springs and I decided to get some H&R sport springs so I would have a level drop.

I took my car in today to get the springs put on, and a buddy said Im gonna need an allignment right away.

Is this true?

Yes.

Any time you change the ride height the toe changes, and toe out of alignment is what kills tires quickly.
