Default Alignment

I recently lowered my car so I'm getting it aligned. It was actually already out of whack before, so I'm sure it's really bad now. I just got new (used) GS-R fat fives with some pretty nice fuzion ZRi's so I'm getting it done today.

My question is, where does everyone get there cars aligned, most places are telling me they can't do a lowered car. I have to go to Tire Kingdom's "performance" branch and it costs $30 extra, but as of now, that's what I'm going to do. Thanks for the help!

What I did was call my trusted shop, asked to speak to the manager, explained that I wanted to align a modified suspension car well outside of factory alignment specs, asked for a recommendation for a shop that would do so, and have only gone there for alignments since. Most good shops will know and recommend a place that can help out you non-standard needs.

Usually, places only charge extra on cars with aftermarket parts that adjust things not factory adjustable. For example, Sears wanted an extra $25 to adjust my camber kit. Not worth complaining about really, since the default price is set knowing that most cars only have toe adjustment stock.

some places will allow lowered vehicles if the bumper cover is removed before hand.

Most places will charge extra for a lowered car because most of the time special care is required to prevent damage to the undercarriage and body. Just to get a lowered car on an alignment rack usually means many wood spacers and a jack. Also, depending on how low you really are spacers are required to get the vehicle over top of the lifts on the alignment rack. Once it's actually on there though it's the same as aligning any other car. I don't know of any shop that won't charge extra for a lowered car.
