Alarm or Fuel kill success stories???? A new type of post...
Since Im sure were all sick of seeing post after post of stolen hondas why dont we share our success stories of how we've prevented the thefts of our cars. For example my friends kill switch saved his *** the other night. Freakin thiefs only got his deck and front lip off cause they couldnt start the car...

My alarm went off in the middle of the night once, it woke me up, and I'm pretty sure it got the neighbors pissed.

when you live in apartments and have to park your car a block away every night, you get good at theft preventing your car. i would post them all but you never know what kinda thief reads these posts.

99.9999% of all the stolen hondas I have seen, purchased, or had
contact with (legitimately via salvage auctions and insurance
companies) had they ignition switched broken off the column and the
actual switch removed from the locking mechanism.
They do not "pop the ignitions" by removing the lock cylinder, but instead just remove the 2 phillips screws that hold the switch to the lock and then turn
the switch to start the car.
They do this because its simple and fast. The interface between these two mechanism is a definate design flaw that does nothing to deter theft. So you can easliy take some steps to slow the thieves down if you reinforce the interface.
Simply taking some lock-tite or superglue and putting it on the
phillips screws would probably stop 75% of all urban theives who do
not have the skills or tools to deal with this unexpected setback
while in your driveway or infront of your house pressed for time.
There is a fair amount of room in there and you could easliy build
something else that would reinforce the interface. 2" of rubber
coating would work too... anything that would prevent them from
easily and quickly seperating the two and starting your car.
This combined with a series of kill switches and other security devices
out to help a lot...of course thay are going to trash the car and
take the stereo when they can't start it, but least you get to keep
your motor....

Re: (hayabusa160)
Don't know if this counts but my friends used to always try and steal my car from me at parties (young girls...why they would try it I will never know), but could never figure out how to get it started. My alarm has a proximity and it used to be WAAAYYY too sensetive, so I got waken up like 4 or 5 times a week the first 2 weeks I had it and definatley had to fix it. Since then, it's only gone off once and when i went outside there was somebody walking down the street in a hurried manner. I <3 my alarm, but if I had to do it over, I would not install it myself *biggest headache in my Honda world so far*

There was a post on JDMC on how to theft proof your car... Like moving the hood pop latch to the fender well, disconnecting your ECU, but leaving it in there so it isnt super obviouse. Disconnect the inside locks...so you can only lock and unlock your car from the outside. Take out the battery (But some criminals now carry batteries with them.) Kill Switches.
As for the cd player jacking, you can put razor blades in there, and that way they will lose some skin when they try to rip it out...
There are a lot of things that you can do to prevent theft...but mainly try to keep it close to where you sleep or are at...Get an alarm system. and try some of the techniques i told you about...I can get you the link the the JDMC site if needed.
