Airbag question... Need some info!
Hey all, I searched and found nothing on the subject...
My question is this: I have found an OEM Honda steering wheel which will fit into my EK (wheel is from an Insight) but it does not have an airbag... The horn works, and the airbag will theoretically work with the SRS wiring and such... If I can get one in there.
So can I take the airbag from my stock Civic CX steering wheel and make it work in the Insight wheel? If I can't do it myself, can a saftely specialist or a shop or something make it work for a reasonible price?
I would like to avoid paying a grip for a new OEM Insight airbag, at that point I'd rather just buy a CTR wheel...
I don't have any SRS knowledge, anyone who knows more can help me, thanks!

Not all airbags from all of those vehicles will work either.
He needs a single-stage airbag (someone correct me if they know how to use a dual-stage airbag with a single-stage SRS brain). The dual-stage/threshold airbags from USDM DC5/EP3 and '06+ S2000 may not work properly or at all. He would need a DC5-R or EP3-R or '00-05 S2000 airbag.

Hmmm, okay, that makes sense... Liek I said, I'm out of my league in this department. This means I will have to buy an airbag, which according to hondaautomotiveparts.com is like $400 or more...
Is there any way at all to custom wire this to work with my existing bag, or am I just S.O.L???

That is correct. Sorry for not mentioning it. I keep forgetting about the safety of america ... with the stupid seat airbags and curtain bags that have to deploy.

Your bag is already wired up to work - the problem is that you can't put it onto the Insight wheel.

Re: (Targa250R)
So, the actual size and shape is the reason it will not fit into the Insight wheel? The issue does not lie in the wiring or "brains" of the swap, right?

It's a matter of fitment and safety.
