Air Filter question....
My friend bought the wrong size air filter for his car, so he gave it to me. And now I have a question about it. Dont have any pictures of it but it looks like the one below, but what is the purpose of the, I guess housing around the filter? Is it just for looks, or does it help in any way? I mean I have a RAI on already...he gave it to me for free, so I was like sure why not.... Thanks!

It's got no purpose. That air filter is supposed to "look" like an HKS SSQ blow-off valve.
The filter is probably a really shitty paper cone, and in all honnesty, is probably super restrictive.
