Air Conditioning removal, just unbolt it and go?
I have an engine swap sitting here to utilize this summer. I drive a del Sol and frankly think AC smells funny anyways so it's gotta go. I know that proper PS removal takes some extra parts, is AC removal more straightforward? Can I just take it off? The pump has a line that heads towards the firewall if the engine was in a car, it has a sensor on it. Is this sensor only AC related? Does it serve any dual purpose, or can it go when unbolting the AC?

Not that I don't think you know what you're talking about, but could anybody else vouch for this as well?

The '16 is in my closet so it was easy. The AC belt went from the main pulley to the AC compressor and it had a little pulley midway. Can I pull that one off to? It seems to just sit there now. I just want to make sure it's not attached to anything important on the unexposed side.

Pull it. When you turn on the AC, three things happen: the AC fan is turned on; the idle is raised (via the ecu); the AC-clutch is energized (through the low-pressure switch).
Removing anything more than the belt can save you a little weight. You can remove the hoses, compressor & bracket(heavy), condensor & fan, and filter. When you remove the hoses from the firewall, try to plug the connections (keeps the evaporator a little cleaner).

I believe the mount is important to leave, atleast I'm keeping it there.
The pump is off and the little extra pulley will go for now until I hear to do otherwise, thanks!

take the pulley off you dont need it as for the bracket thats on the motor to the tourque mount leave it on you need this. you can get a different mount off a car that didnt have ac but it doesnt matter.

When i took the ac out of my hatch i pulled off ever bracket, hose, pulley, etc and everything else associated with the ac system. No problems at all

Send me an email to the address in my profile if you're serious about wanting the compressor. You'll have to get a AC mount on your own, you need them whether or not a compressor hangs off them. The pump is off a B16A SIRII from Japan, I don't know what other engines it's compatible with, you'll have to research that.

what difference will just pulling the belts make? thing is i live live in florida, and its summer now, but when winter rolls around (dec-jan, lol) i just want to pull the belts off, never use the AC then anyways. in the summer the only time i dont ahve my AC on is when im flooring it, turning it off i can feel a big difference, especially in later 2nd gear, will pulling the belts off do even more for me?

The ac fan relay and the radiator fan relay are connected (wiring diagram). I removed my ac and now my radiator fan doesnt turn on. This could be a problem.
