i have a 94 ex with a b16. i just won (on ebay) an a/c assembly from a 93 hatch dx. i jumped into it without making sure that will fit my car. it should fit fine, correct?

dang, should have searched. lol. I believe you will have to buy an AC bracket off a Del Sol VTEC to make it fit.

yes, but no. the 92 and 93 civics use r-12, the 94 and up use 134a. it will physically bolt up, but, the thermostatic switch in the evap will not plug in. the b16 a/c bracket may not bolt up to the civic compressor.

why would he be leaking the refrigerant? his biggest problems are the thermostat and compressor fitment.

when i did my install, i replaced all the o-rings and bought the clips that hold all the lines in place to the chassis. if you don't get the clips, the lines will rub against the chassis and you will have a hole in a line eventually. the install is actually quite easy, take out the battery and tray, remove the bumper and support, radiator, and glove box. i took about 45 minutes from start to finish. make sure you have the a/c button. civics without a/c have a cover plate, the cover comes right off and you snap the button in where it is missing.

The AC is not really as big of an issue as it has been made out to be. You will need to get the AC bracket from either a CRV or Del Sol Si the one with the D series in it NOT the Del Sol VTEC that would be just a normail B16 bracket and you will be SOL no pun intended. Once you have one of those brackets the system will bolt up. Once you get it installed the system can easily be convereted to r134 when you take it in to get charged for a small fee.

You won it so pay for it don't be a shitty buyer. It can be made to fit your situation easily.

don't mean to jack your thread, but, I have a 94 dx coupe and when i swapped my 97 gsr in it the gsr a/c compressor was still attached. Will i still need to get the del sol a/c bracket????

Alright gents the mystery is over, you need the P54 A/C bracket, not the P30 that also comes with the Del Sol. Call your local Honda parts location and check it out from there, I think mine was about $120, it was a while ago so I do not remember exactly.

Make sure you get the right Del Sol Bracket like I posted earlier.

I doubt that your civic AC lines will properly attach to the compressor.

Civic AC lines will only work with Civic AC compressors... like wise integra with integra. So when you swap a B series into a civic, then you need the DOHC AC bracket as well. I have been told that a OEM D series AC compressor will bolt to a B series as long as you have the right AC bracket like a P54 from a DOHC Del Sol which I went actually have but have not yet tried.

I ordered the P30 (wrong one) abotu a year ago, I went to put it on becuase the summer is getting "encouraging." Turns out it was the wrong one sitting there all along. I call honda parts back and the say "Ya, no prob, just bring in the part and the box and we're good. no tears, but a slight mist made it to my eye when they said it would be $5 bucks more and that they will have it ready for me in about 5 days. We shall see soon.

so basically what i need to do is swap out my dohc a/c compressor with my sohc a/c comp. buy the dohc del sol a/c bracket and i'm done..?

in mine, i kept the integra bracket with the integra compressor and everything that was attached to the chassis was 94 civic except for the 92 thermostat. i made a custom high pressure line and called it a day. A/C is easy, you just have to know how it all works.

so in the end, i had a 93(supposed to be R12) with a 134a system running a B18B with an integra compressor and bracket.

Do you think any normal A/C repair shop will be able to make a custom hig pressure line to make this work for me?? If not I found this bracket from jdmland.com

I have that bracket on my b16. It should mount that compressor to the b16.
