air conditioning problem
i have a 95 ex civic which didnt come with a/c - no components. well, ive decided to put one in. Now , my problem is that the a/c shop is charging me $1500 for the whole thing plus labor. they say it will be like oem . I think this is too much to pay. Is there any other alternative to this. i really dont need to have all the parts legit , you know, i just want a/c . ive been to junk/salvage yards but the civics there have all busted up a/c s. if any one has a cheaper alternative than please help me. other wise i guess i will just have to fork up $1500.
thank you.

sell your car and get on with a/c.. it is not worth it.. if u got the mechanical skills then u can do it yourself for about 3-400. juck yard and some rebuilt or aftermarket parts cause some u dont want from a juckyard.
measure your mechanical skills,,, can toy take out the dash and put it back. i am mechanically inclined but it was a bitch for me to do.. and takes along time.. main parts u need.
all lines, condenser core, compressor, interrior ac console(jdm).. not worth it to me.. but i am glad i have ac..
it's an old car bro.. not going to raise the value of the car.. your money though.. but i would rather invest in a swap or just save. I just feel u on the a/c..

to be honest $1500 is too much.. call around to other shops who can do it for cheaper.
I can do it, parts will cost about $350 plus the refegerant and vacuum and pressure testing

Indeed. Search around Classifieds for people selling their A/C system and grab it. Shop around for parts aswell. You can do it yourself.
