aftermarket water temp gauge.......need some help
i have a 99 civic si i just recently purchased some glow shift elite 10 gauges.. first off love em..... but the real reason im asking for help is on the water temp sending unit. one wire hook up yes.... i tried piggy backing the aftermarket sending wire but neither the stock or aftermarket gauge worked.... then i tried one at a time... they both worked separately..... any ideas on the situation at hand... glow shift told me about a t connection but no the slightest f-ing clue as to what they are talking about... and i work at a part store..... i really dont wanna purchase the water adaptor that you splice into the upper hose, cause to me that just looks tacky, also the after market sending unit is hooked up to the water sending unit... could this result in my radiator fans not to kick on...???? any information is appreciated

Just hook up the aftermarket one. Who cares about the stock one if youre installing that gauge, its probably more accurate anyways.

fans will still come on if you're only tapping into the upper rad hose (and that will allow your cluster temp guage to work still).
buying a temp guage is more functional than looks so i wouldn't worry about it looking ugly.

No, you have a temp sensor, and a fan switch. The fan switch will turn the fans on as needed. It is located on the Tstat housing. To check if the fans work, unplug the fan switch, stick a paperclip in the plug (harness side of course), and then turn your key to accessory. The fan(s) should come on immediately. If not, there is a problem with you fans, or wiring to the fans.
