aftermarket springs, stock struts?
What is the lowest you can safely drop your car on stock struts? without the use of a camber kit??? or is it not possible at all?

It really depends on the spring rates. I ran relatively soft Sprints on stock shocks for OVER A YEAR without a problem. They dropped my car 2.5". When I installed Koni Yellows, the stock shocks were still as good as could be. But again, it was because my spring rates were fairly soft. If I was on H&R Races then my stock shocks most likely would've blown within a month or so.
Also, the rule of thumb is 1.5" before "absolutely" needing a camber kit. A four-wheel alignment will be a must, though. However, I still don't run a camber kit while dropped 2.5", and my front is only -1/10 out of spec with the rear about -8/10 out of spec. Good toe all around, though.

It's usually about $60. At my local shop that includes adjusting camber via a camber kit if so equipped. But sometimes they will change that rate to maybe $100, depending on what type of camber kit and stuff. Also remember to make sure that the alignment shop can align lowered vehicles. Some shops simply can't because lowered cars are hard to drive up onto the alignment rack. At another local shop, they wouldn't align my car because it was so low that the alignment lasers they were using were hitting the bottom of the bumpers and fender and what not. But luckily I found a shop that modified their ramps to lessen the angle of approach, which helps keep the scraping of our cars to a minimum.
If the shocks are installed, the ride will be extremely bouncy, it might leak fluid, etc. When you push down on one corner of the car, the chassis will compress down, come back up, and quickly settle. If the shock's bad, that corner will bounce a lot before the chassis settles still.
