aftermarket mirrors for the EG
i am looking for a foldable aftermarket lightweight mirror. anyone know of a set? i am really going for something lighter, as my stock mirrors are powered, and although not heavy, they could stand to see some lightening. any suggestions?
EDIT: i found a set, manufactured by APR.
but for $250 anyone know where i can get them cheaper? thanks.

umm, i wanter lighter mirrors. power folding mirrors are the same as what are currently on my car but with an additional electric motor, so essentially HEAVIER than stock! for the record, i don't give a fugg about looks. i am trying to lighten my civic utilizing any means (legal for my Scca class) possible. stock mirrors are something that i do not use, but mirrors are required on the vehicle.

Re: aftermarket mirrors for the EG (rodney)
I've got a set of the Spoom knockoffs and they do okay. They're not very heavy either. Visibilty sucks, and I broke out the glass the first day I had them, but overall, for a racecar (you said you don't use them anyways) they should be okay. If you want I can pull them off and weigh them later on!

I do not agree with this statement at all, I think they look awesome on a race or street car....... depending on the styling of the car. If it flows it goes.....

That's cool, they just look stupid because they're small and rectangular, on a Civic that's round and relatively high. They're look nice on an angular car such as an NSX or something similar to the profile. IMO obviously. Nevermind the fact that if you're that hellbent on lightening things on a street car, you're a dufus.

Re: aftermarket mirrors for the EG (SkyeC)
You could always rip the base off a stock one and try to JB Weld on there.
Another cost effective way might be to run without the passenger side mirror if it's allowed (should be since it was an option on some Civics) and only buy one driver side mirror.

well, it just so happens my race car is legal for the street, so what's wrong with trying to lighten up any/every thing that i can?

i wish. unfortuneatly SCCA does not work that way. long story short, i cannot update/backdate to a lesser cx/dx/vx. that even includes sound deadening. i have to keep it. all well, this post is moot anyway... i found out i cannot replace the mirrors, as it would be illegal to do so. so, thanks for the help and the pics. one day if it is deemed legal, i will be all over it.
