Better yet, get a set of EDM headlights, so you have a beam pattern that's actually optimised for LHD use.

If you're content with the DOT-spec lighting, that's fine. However, I wouldn't exactly classify that as "better still", considering how poorly the DOT units perform. There's also nothing abnormal looking about the EDM or JDM headlights. With the EDM's, the primary difference is in the E-code optics, which don't really affect the outward appearance of the lights.

That is completely false. A normal cut-off patern has an upward slant to the side of the road to illuinate pedestrians & signs. If you use headligths from a country that drives on the opposite side of the road, you will be illuminating oncoming traffic.
Haven't you ever wondered why oncoming cars headlights are so bright as you head around a left-hand curve. Because your sitting in the path of the raised cut-off...

What are you talking about? I said there is nothing abnormal looking about the lights. In other words, if you install a set on your car, people are not going to point and say, "My, those are some odd looking headlights". I can assure you that I'm completely aware of the various beam patterns and cut-offs, and if you took the time to actually read through the whole thread, you'd note that I stated how the EDM lights would be a better option since they are optimised for LHD use. Thanks for the failed attempt at correcting me though.
