Aftermarket crank pullies b18a/b

I know this has had threads on it and I did do some searching but I am not seeing any input on why I am looking at these

I am building a EG and using a b18b for a show and go type thing and the crank pulley that came with it is a little chipped up but functional.

Because this build is more about looks/style (wire tuck, brake tuck etc...) than anything else, I have looked at pullies on this so I can get a nice looking finish. This is not about a performance thing, just looks. I like the looks of the single belt pulley.

The aftermarket pullies have a bad rep on these engines, so I looking for any suggestions on this. Or should I just get another stock pulley?

This vehicle will be driven like 2-3k miles a year. I am making this a streetable build.

If its all about looks than you should be fine with the current product. Couple debates here and there about lightweight pulleys/cranks but this doesn't matter in your case because, again, its about looks.

I'm just wanting to make sure that I don't end up with motor issues from an after market pulley.

Even if this isn't driven a lot, I still plan on driving it like it should be driven.

Kinda looking for suggestions on brands...etc...any suggestions? I've looked through your Ebay crap as usual, I just don't have much of a reference point for a good brand for this kind of part. The only brand I'a finding is Fluidamper...and this is just waay overkill for what I'm doing.

Thanks for the quick relay BTW

And how should it be driven for a car that was meant for looks? You can't expect much from products that were meant for looks, aka BLING FACTOR.

The main issue is if the B18B/A pulley is a dampened pulley and the aftermarkets are not.

Driving an undampened pulley on an engine that needs a dampened pully runs the risk of additional wear on internal engine parts due to specific vibrations not being dampened.

How much additional wear you will see in your application and driving habits is unknown and impossible to forecast.

The potential is there though with the aftermarket pulley where it will not be if you either go with a new stock pulley (assuming dampened) or if you spend the dollars on an ATI performance Super Damper.

The last option gets you a cool look as well as superior dampening. But does cost a pretty penny.

If you were trailering the car everywhere, the undampened pulleys would do fine. As soon as you say driving, the potential for problems rises.

ATI Super Damper. Ultra cool looking, performance as fuck.

Cool cool...thanks for the responses. You are pretty much confirming what I thought. I was just hoping someone has stumbled across something I hadn't seen...like a pretty single billet aluminum pulley with a damper in it. Oh well

Looks like stock pulley is what it will be...

...I literally just handed you exactly what you're talking about. :ugh:

I know you did...but I'm not going to spend 300+ bucks for a pulley/damper. So I am going to go with the stock one and clean it up...

Its pretty obvious you want someone to give you an answer on a product you have your eye on. Fuckin retarded ass guessing games where we have to guess what product you want a review on and shit.

You want to use that PoS billet crank pulley than use it on your show car.

No...smart guy. I was asking to see if someone had a suggestion of something I hadn't seen yet.

I was hoping to get some info without having to listen to crap like this...this is why I very rarely log on to Honda tech anymore...

I think this thread has reached the end of anything useful. It would be appreciated if this was locked at this point...thanks for confirming that things haven't changed...
