After changing head gasket car is shooting code 9
Hey guys whats up. I changed the head gasket on a friends EG with an LS in it. after changing it the car is shooting code 9. which is Cylender number 1 position sensor. Anyways when you rev the motor by hand it is very responsive. It does not sound like the timeing is off a tooth. Also when I set the timeing on the motor I made sure that it was dead on(which doesnt really look dead on if you know what I mean) Do you guys think that the timing is off or could it be something else.

Re: After changing head gasket car is shooting code 9 (averyvm)
I checked the faq section and I searched but I could not find any pictures on what the correct timeing looks like on an LS. Does anyone know where I could find some pics of what it looks like. I got a service manual and know that up needs to be up. but i just want to see some pics of what it looks like

You know that there are two lines on the side of the cam gears to line up with the top of the head and then two in the middle to line up with one another once you get the two set then get your crank set. just make sure to spin it around a couple of times and check again cause slack in the line can make it skip a tooth when you spin it around.
