Default AEM Wide Band o2 Sensor and OEM o2 Sensors

So i've been doing a little bit of research on the wideband o2 sensors in particular the AEM brand. Some things I came across that got my attention is that it can replace my OEM o2 sensor. It does this in mode P4 which sends an output voltage of up to 1volt. Only that in the manual it doesn't really tell you how to wire it up. And that's my confusion. If I take that 1v output from the AEM unit and connect to the o2 sensor input on my ECU, will it function as normal just as long as I don't go over 1volt? Pretty much I'm guessing that one wire is all it takes to run to the ECU. Right? What are your thoughts?

Hmm I would think you just wire this to the input 02 sensor wire on the ecu pinout. This would be a nice setup cause then you dont have to have another o2 bung welded in.

Or would this NOT be a good idea because this method will have the ECU contorl the wideband?

There should be a simulated narrowband output(0-1v signal) from the wideband controller. So basically you'll put the wideband in, connect it to the wideband controller, and then run a wire from the 0-1v output on the controller to the ecu pin. You will also need to disable the o2 heater via some sort of ecu program(crome, uber, etc).

That kinda sucks, I'm not planning to use a chipped ECU so I guess it'd be better for me to have 2 o2's for now i guess. Thanks for clearing this up!

Yah, without a chipped ecu(or finding some other sneaky way to bypass the heater circutry), you're going to get a nice CEL in your face.

Hey thanks man. I was looking into Uberdata and it actually might be the way to go. Do you have any experience with Uberdata?

quite a bit actually... I've tuned several cars with it. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.
