I don't think there's been enough dyno results and write ups from non-biased customers to show that one is any better than the other. I think more time is needed, as it's still considered pretty new by the aftermarket.

As far as I know, the V2 just produces more intake noise in comparison to the regular old CAI....but if you want opinions, fuck them both go get a shortram https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Im betting that the AEM people think that since the driver hears more noise their car is faster. Thus the creation of the V2. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif Just my .02

You want noise? Get a 60$ fake j's intake..... shit's louder than my exhaust.

The V2 is just a regular CAI with one of those stupid Tornado devices in it. You know, those late night add for the Fuel Saving, 20HP gaining POS things that make the air SPIN in the intake.

The V2 does not have any such device in it. It wasn't engineered to make more noise to make people think it makes more power either. That's what some crappy knock-off made in Taiwan intake does. The AEM V2 is a very well engineered intake where 2 different diameter and lengths of pipe are put together at specific points to take advantage of different pulse wave tuning for optimal power increase over the entire rpm range. I have researched this piece extensively and the engineering principles behind it are sound and I intend to buy one for my own car. That being said I also feel that the V2 is a little on the pricey side and have no intention of buying one until the price comes down once it's been on the market for a while.

Not everyone believes buying this intake is a very good value and "to each their own". Whatever people believe, it's not something that was thrown together and should at least get the respect it deserves for the engineering that went into it, if nothing else. There's too much other junk on the market that really doesn't do anything as it is.

I totally agree with this guy all the way, but damn the V2 can do a MEGA SLURPPY! aha jk, but wow it is very loud, my buddy just got one on his GSR and it sounds sick, but not sure about power gain..etc.

Oh well,, very expensive, DIY COLD-AIR all the way! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Ummmmmmm.....there is another biased review, from someone who hasnt even used the product. I havent used it either. HOWEVER, I didnt praise it nor did I say it was a crappy product. I just said that the reason its loud is to make the driver mentally think they have more power. That is my opinion and I'm allowed to have it, dont attack me for that. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif Until I see dyno tests that prove that any intake system is better than another, I won't be buying any brand name intakes. e-gay intake for $20 > AEM/K&N intake for $250 anyday.

You cant be more wrong. I have personally seen dyno sheets comparing the regular aem cai compared to the V2 aem cai. The power gains over the original are only 2-4 hp at the wheels but a gain is a gain, right. Add that to the 5-7 hp it already gives you and you got a decent mod that puts down 7-10hp at the wheels. Since the gains are so minimal this part isnt for everyone but dont put it down if you dont know what your talking about.

^^^ this is all correct. i have seen it with my own eyes. It doesn't have anything to do with putting MORE air into your engine but HOW it gets in there. the V2 uses two different size tubes(the bigger overlapping the samller tube) which in turn creats a type of harmonic wave overlap that gets the same amount of air into the engine but just more efficient. For the horsepower this mod gives i wouldn't think twice and pick one up as soon as possible

how are we sapposed to tell you a mod to your engine is worth it or not? sorry dude, but i simply cant tell you that.

if it were me, id just buy a cheap short ram intake like others have said cuz i personally cant see spending 100+ extra dollars just on a name brand version.

i do agree with that guy explaining shit on the V2 though, dumbasses that dont understand physics will knock it right away, but i too, think the design (or at least their idea) is quite intelligent.

I wouldn't say that my review is biased by any means. I was giving my opinion based on research I had done on that product rather than stating an opinion based on "feelings" which so many other people like to do and call it fact. I certainly wasn't trying to attack you either and sorry if you felt I was as that wasn't my intention. What you said about the noise making part was more of a joke I know. I was mostly directing my comment towards the claim that the V2 had one of those tornado things in it which was false. There are dyno tests out there that have substantiated the claims of the increase in performance the V2 adds, as others have stated on here and I found them when I was researching the part. That is how I came to the conclusion I did about the V2. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif
