Default AEM V2 Intake?

I was wondering if anyone has purchased and used the AEM V2 Intake and your opinions on weather or not it is worth the $250? I have a 95 EX with bull **** intake & H/E.

i have a friend running it on his 95 coupe. The only thing that is noticeably different is how freakin loud it is.

It's a piece of pipe and filter, so no it's not worth $250. It's pointless buying I/H/E for your car anyways, it's not going to be any faster, sorry. Save your money for better things.

It does have a dual chamber design, and it is very nice, powder coated, with a good quality filter. I used one for a while, but didn't before/after dyno it. It didn't make enough of a difference to register on the butt-dyno, but I think it's only supposed to be good for a few HP. I sold it when I went turbo, got a lot for it on ebay, just a bit less than I paid for it.

I had one on my 97 EX and it was sucked loud as hell. But I also sucked water into my motor with it. I woud never spend the money and the work changing the trans mount for one ever again. Just use a original AEM.

Used cheap one before, and I could fell a difference when I put the AEM on. Not a big difference, but noticable. Either way, Autozone = $40, Ebay aem short ram = ~$90, V2 = $250. You do the math, but V2 is not worth it.

see if you can look up TOP SPEED on the net, its an aftermarket co. that has what your looking for and for a lot cheeper it just wont say AEM but who cares. I put one on my old d15 before i boosted it and i could see some difference

There was an article awhile back comparing AEM v1&v2, along with a couple of other CAI's. It basically said that the v2 did have slight gains over the v1, but not much. AEM got pissed off and even requested that the car's oil be changed after every test, saying that the v2 was used to late and the car was run down, blah blah blah.

Basically the article said that it wasn't worth the money.

You could build the same intake with a K&N cone filter and $20 worth of pvc and fittings from Home Depot.

not worth the extra money. you might gain like 1hp at the flywheel from it. just buy a cheap one they all do the exact same thing.

Ive had the AEM CAI intake on for a bit. Heres the real deal, u are truly just paying for a piece of piping and a filter, but they've done research and it will result in better flow than a Autozone one. Proof, my friend has a hatch of the same year as my car, same motor, and a long long while back when i was rice i raced him. He had the Autozone one, i had an AEM cold air. I whooped his ***. Three times in a row to be exact. You will feel the difference, but i can guarantee the difference between the V2 and the first is not that noticeable. The only reason I went name brand was because I have a hookup directly into NOPI from living so close and I paid like nothing for it. U can do the same thing with PVC piping, its cheaper, but u do get what u pay for, it wont yield as much HP.

just cause you got it don't mean you should waste it. The width and length of the tube is all that matters. The name brands do research and design one with the correct dimensions. if you go to home depot and get your own pipe with the same dimensions, it will perform the same. I've seen a lot of diy cai's work great. I went name brand because I wanted that engine bay bling, and ebay makes things cheaper.
