AEM V2 air intake
I am looking at buying a air intake for my EK Hatch I am looking at the AEM ones either the cold air or the V2 ones I am wondering do anyone on here use the V2 ones if so what do you think , also can you post pics.

Unless its a whale *****, then you can spend the $350 and say "****, Im so JDM my intake is made out of carbon fiber" However, I say "****, Im more JDM than that guy cause mine is made out of Kevlar"....it really is.

Password just came out with the Carbon Kevlar intake. I Unpacked one the other day at a shop. It looks cool, but it has alot of flaws.

I use the V2 and I can feel the added power through out the entire rpm range. It is also cold to the touch after driving for a while. Not to mention it sounds great... not to loud but you can deffinatly hear the whistle when it's taking in its air.

eh, they're not much used and you get the benefits of cold air as long as it doesn't rain TOO much or flood where you live. here's mine on my 96 gsr that came with the car:

unless you're in cali and need to be carb legal
or building a show car that has to have name brands on everything, its not worth the money to buy a name brand intake.
the only difference is they tend to come with a real k&n filter, your best bet would be to find one you like on ebay and exchange the filter for a real k&n.

Just get one off of ebay dude I just picked up a AEM CAI for $44 shipped. Works great for the money I got in it but I would never pay $300-350 for a new one. I'll save that money for my turbo later hehe

how do you prevent outside debris from getting sucked into the intake manifold with a velocity stack?

It is, technically. K&N makes a special filter to fit over the end, i.e. the one I have pictured.

It is, technically. K&N makes a special filter to fit over the end, i.e. the one I have pictured.
