Default AEM short ram intake question

Can the 96-98 EX and the 99-00 EX use the same AEM short ram intake? I just want to make sure since I'm picking up one tonight. Thanks guys.

I wouldn't see why not. Should be all the same under the hood, space wise.

Don't spend $200 dollars an intake. An EBay intake for $15 dollars will give you same results.

$200, where are you buying your intakes? you can get a cold air for like $175 and i got my short ram for $90! plus with your ebay intake doesnt come with the carb exempt sticker. as for your question i think that it will work but im not sure. i would go on their site and see if they have the same part number!!!

$175 is $160 too much for an intake, as is $90. I'm up in Washington, I don't need to worry about anything being carb legal. I don't see how an AEM intake differs from an EBay intake other than the filter. So, it doesn't make sense to me how one would be legal, and one wouldn't be.

A $15 ebay intake doesn't filter air for ****.

Go ahead and get it if you don't mind burning oil eventually cause all that dirt that get by those filters will ruin your motor.

And why support companies that don't have engineers or do any R&D???

Because how much R&D do you need for the INTAKE PIPE... a turbo or ignition is one thing but a pipe that costs 100+ is crazy.

Just get the ebay pipe, discard the filter and get a good filter...

Side note, HP spent 4billion dollars to research how to make a seperate colored injet system.... the DIDNT NEED TO SPEND 4 billion dollars to do it, and that wasted R&D that i as a consumer dont want to spend.

well it does matter when you are in cali because the cops here are ****!!!! As for wasteing money i dont think it is because i doubt that your ebay intake is the same diameter as an aem. so lets think about this your gonna pay the $15 for the ebay intake so you can go out and buy a like $50 k&n filter so now your up to $65 so your paying $25 for that carb exempt sticker, that isnt including any shipping. i need that sticker and i need it to check out when i got for smog. having all that in one package is just easier for me but obviously im the only one who likes my aem but that is ok.

If everyone keeps buying cheap parts, companies like AEM and DC will make cheaper quality products and still sell them at the same price thus leaving people like us who live in states like Cali with inferior products that we need to stay legal

Then they will turn into companies like Monster that rape for cables.

Dont confuse ICEMAN with AEM. AEM is not plastic, its either powder coated or painted.

No they don't....AEM makes the filters in-house.

Well we all know to buy a new filter if you buy a Ebay intake. Now what is the difference in the ebay piping and an AEM pipe?
