AEM pulley Question?
Do the pulleys actually do what they are suppose to do? Are they worth getting?
AEM Tru-Power pulleys increase power by reducing the parasitic drag caused by factory accessory pulleys. Our lightweight pulleys reduce rotating weight and are slightly oversized to maximize efficiency, which nets more horsepower at the wheels. We guarantee our pulleys' belt tooth profiles to match O.E. specifications, eliminating any chance of premature belt wear. Comprehensive installation instructions, replacement belts and AEM decals are included in every kit.

get the unorthodox racing set. It replaces everything. the aem only replaces the two. When I use to have my 98 prelude I put them on and only noticed my headlights would dim at idle. No real performance gains from the aem ones. Just my experience with them though...get them if you want.

total waste of money. they hardly do anything and frankly, are almost completely for BLING. theyre a pain in teh *** to replace too so id definately not waste my money on ANY lightweight pulleys - not just AEM brand.

I had the alt pulley on the ZC in my 91 Hatch & I noticed better throttle response. IMO it was worth it for the $50 I paid for it. The change was noticible to me. It definately didn't "add" HP though. But, the change in response was great.

If you want to free up "horsepower" in your pulley system, remove your ENTIRE A/C system, remove your P/S pump. That's all you need.

Both of these modifications will get you nothing! The pulleys don't do ****. The lip does absolutely nothing. I'm a fan of function over fashion.
To each his own... Do what makes you happy.

i totally agree. it MIGHT allow you to rev slightly quicker, but there's cheaper, easier, and more safe ways to do it. i know i wouldnt sacrifice the money, horrible installation process, and on top of all that, a loss of power to my battery just to be able to rev slightly quicker.
as for that pic posted, WHO owns that car? id like to talk to them about getting more pics of it and figuring out the paint color code, etc. that is one of the tightest colors ive ever seen on an EK!!
