Default AEM cold-air intake.

I want to buy an AEM cai. I found one at importdoctor.com for $185. Is this a good deal? If anyone has any other sites for cheaper it would be appreciated. Also, I dont really know sh*t about cars. Could I install this by myself. I know that if I had any questions I could post them, but I would like to do it alone. If anyone helps, thanks.

it's all pretty basic of an installation, it pretty much bolts right in and anyone can do it. if you go for the cai be sure to get the air-bypass valve. it keeps water out of your engine hence keeping your engine alive during a rain. if you decide to go without the bypass then be very careful and avoid all puddles or you will NEED an engine swap.

$185 seems like a good price for an aem cai.

yes, you could install it yourself... you may need some help, but probably not too much.

NV? you guys dont get much rain.. atleast i dont think soo.. just go with the AEM CAI.. **** if you are low on funds make one.. http://www.teamdelsol.com

edit: living in a dry area, you wont really need a bypass valve, just look out for driving through huge puddles.

I found one for my '99 Si on eBay for 155.00
If you're willing to be a little patient, you can find better than 185.00

i got mine on ebay, from the seller AEMPOWR

http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...page=1&rows=25

the total with a bypass valve including shipping was only about 205. the seller is great and has flawless feedback

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate all the help. And yeah, I guess I probably wont need a bypass valve to keep the rain out here in NV, but thanks for the tip.
