Default AEM CAI + Skunk2 IM

AEM CAI + Skunk2 IM on B16A2, will I have to use a different throttle body? Will this run properly without modding my electronics which I dont want to do. Will reseting the ECU correctly tell the engine how to use the new flow coming through?

THX

Skunk2 IM is designed to utilize all your stock components, i.e. sensors, TB, etc

They should just bolt on, but now the TB will be the "bottle neck" or your intake system. Maybe that should be your next consideration.

Is it true that running a Skunk2 IM on a relatively mild B16 N/A setup would actually hurt power? Because I've read about a couple of people running the skunk IM on fairly stock engines and losing power.

ive never heard of that before---- its basicaly the same manifolds as the itr and ctr use----i dont see how adding better air flow could hurt your setup, as for mine--- when i bolted it on it really seemed to open up the engine, and i could see the diffrence mostly in the vtec band

92hatchattack pretty much summed it all up. It's an ITR manifold made to fit the gsr and b16 head. I don't remember well but I believe the plenum lengths and design are designed to help the engine breathe better throughout all rpm bands.. you could see some loss but more gains in different areas (upper rpm range and pass vtec xover point). I believe Skunk2nR can help you out with more info on this

haha, i already told you it's not AEM. plus you don't have a clue how much i make, nor do you know what i do with my money. i don't need to spend every cent of it on red gabs, there is a thing called life and world with bills, tuition, and other things that are fun besides cars. how sad you are....

I also heard that on a relatively stock b16, the Skunk2 IM can hurt power.. Like mentioned the Skunk2 IM seems to almost identical to a ITR IM. Looks like they improved the plenum volume and straightened the runners..

the b16A2 should run fine with those 2 mods. however, there is a slight chance that you might loose low end power because of the intake manifold...it's meant to work with a lot of air and work with bigger cams. i wouldn't do the intake manifold just now, go with bigger cams first then do the intake manifold.
