advice on buying this civic or not
hey everyone im gonna pick up a 95 coupe tomorrow and i just wanna hear if its worth it or not. its got a d16z6 v-tec in it. 5-speed and has about 135,000 miles on it. but it needs a headgasket. i got him down to 700 cash. the body is ok not super great but 700 i think is a good deal but idk. i figured i could fix the headgasket and re-sell it for more. but last time i got a car cheap it was pretty ****ed up. just lookin for some advice.

1. How bad is the body? Pics?
2. If the body is messed up, there could be possible frame damage.
3. "Get the carfax"
-otherwise-
700 bucks for a 95 Civic EX is pretty good. If you can shell out the money to revamp the entire shell and whatever else you feel like doing, then personally, I feel like 700 is a great deal.

Idk,
Buying a used car with a blown head gasket is pretty risky..
You first have to imagine what he did to blow the head gasket and then factor the work you'll need to put in on shaving the head and ruining your compression ratios.
If you do in fact buy the car you might just wonna think about buying an old d16 motor from hmotorsonline. This move, I believe will actually save you in labor and cost as well as give the potential buyers that extra security.

Car is worth $500 tops, Trans is probably still a DX as well, which KILLS any power the dying Z6 in it may have left.

Its not 'bad', I personally drive a swapped DX coupe, nearly identical to that one.
But I paid $1100 for it, and it was a one owner car, and needed NOTHING, Drove flawlessly, bone stock.
A rusty DX with a blown motor is quite litereally a dime a dozen, Its worth $400-500 in my opinion.
There is a manual EX sedan FS locally *Chicagoland* for $850 that doesn't need major mechanical work, just nick-nack crap.
