Default Adjustments before cranking for the first time after a coolant change

I've heard that I should adjust the heater/temperature **** to max heat. 1) Why is this? 2) Should I turn ON the A/C button or leave it OFF. 3) Does INSIDE(CABIN)/OUTSIDE air button matter? 4) Should I turn on the blower?

Before cranking for the first time after changing my coolant, what do I need to do or be aware of?

I've checked for leaks, air bubbles, reservoir and radiator coolant levels which are filled their maximum level. I know to keep an eye on the engine temp and make sure the radiator fan turns on.

Default Re: Adjustments before cranking for the first time after a coolant change

all you really need to do is crack the bleeder on the thermo housing when the care is at operating temp (if u have one as ive seen ones without)if u dont know it is a little bolt with a hole down the middle iirc its a 10mm. the reason you wanna turn ur heat on is to make sure that its pull ing into the heater core if u drained the entire system. also idle it with the radiator cap off to see if the coolent level drops as it may suck into the heater core. leave the cap off and top it off for like the first min or 2. recap let it reach operating temp let lit cool back down and double check the level also. as when the thermostat opens if the block is empty it will pull coolant in the motor and lower the level in the radiator

hope that helps
