adjusting coilovers without wrench?
im about to pick up some gc's from a ht member and he says it doesnt include the adjusting wrench. he said u can easily adjust it with an allen wrench. is this true? my friend told me most race shops have extra wrenches lying around for around 10-15 dollars that i could pick up. any help is appreciated.

g/c's dont use the spanner like others. or atleast i dont remember using one, but the allen loosens up the locking collar. i am pretty sure they dont use a spanner.

yeah, GC design doesnt really need the spanner wrench. it has grooves so that it could use one, but you really dont need to. unlike double lock nut collars like skunk2/omni which require you to tighten one collars to each other, which then require the use of the wrench, or banging with a screwdriver and hammer. which is another reason GC kit is better.
youll only have a problem with adjusting the GC when you try to raise the perch with a lot of preload while the suspension is assembled in the car. you can do some tricks like using a wrench to push the spring up just a bit more to relieve some tension to spin the collar up a bit more, but then theres only so much more you can do. after that, you have to disassemble and use some kind of spring compressor, which ive never needed anyway, just get shorter springs...

You don't adjust it with the allen wrench. You use it to loosen and lighten the perches so you can adjust them by hand. It's very easy unless you've got loads of gunk between the threads.
