Default Adding a hi-flow cat

How does adding a hi-flow cat change the exhaust note?

Will the sound get more unpleasant? Does it get louder?

I have a catco... it actually made it quiter than it was before...

A little deeper but definately quiter...

No check engine light...

you shouldn't be getting one with a hi-flow cat.

Will adding an aftermarket cat such as a Random Tech pass the sniffer test during a smog check?

it should pass as long as all the o2 sensors are hooked up correctly.

It should pass if it's not an off road use only. And yes the high flow cats should change your exhaust note.

"off road use headers" and exhaust parts will pass emissions. I haven't heard of an off road use converter, since there would be no reason to have a converter for off road use. Either way, the off road use stuff passes emissions and is only considered "for off road use" because it does not correspond to factory specifications for manifold/converter/exhaust.

It will not pass a visual test or CARB (in cali) if it is offroad, but emissions should not be altered.
