Is It Actually Possible To Remove Alternator From Top Of Engine Bay???

Default Is It Actually Possible To Remove Alternator From Top Of Engine Bay???

as the topic states, in a 97 ex...
I tried for a good hour and I can't seem to figure it out!

its possible but u will prob scrape up a few stuff...ive dont it with my b16 in ek b4

you have to take the fuel rail and **** off. just drop it out the bottom.

dont i have to take off the axle tho? if so, how long does that take if you have never done it before?

take the brake master cylinder off the firewall, done take off lines, just bolts that hole it to the car..

MAN! You don't have to take off ****! If you position it just right it will come out over the axle and through the wheel well. Just get that splash shield out of the way.

remove the bracket that holds it on the engine block. It should drop from the bottom.

This is from experience on a D series OBD-1

umm. i dont know about all of these things you guys are saying. ive pulled alternators from the top. its the only way i usually do them.

I pull them from the top via the "loosened master cylinder" approach. Never failed me. Not sure what the great debate is all about.

take the bolts off
take the belt off
go for a drive

it will find its way out

Honda would tell you to remove the axle and pull it out that way. But I would loosen the brake master cylinder and pull it out through there...
