ACL bearings?
I'm in the middle of finishing my LS/vtec build and i'm wondering.
I know to order honda bearings you need the color codes.
Do you need the color codes to order ACL bearings?
Some people say yes others say no

ACL only come in the "green" color code
I used them in my ls block and came away with good clearances.
Just plastigauge the crank with the acl's installed to be sure its ok.
Personally, I would like more info on how to measure for honda bearings...

Do NOT shave bearings, it is very unsafe to do. If your not getting the clearence you want then check this thread and go out and buy a bearing with the color code for a little thicker or thinner bearing.

Re: ACL bearings? (SidewayzSupra)
What I have done to some good success.
Purchase a set of std. size Acl's, Measure with plastigauge. If you need larger clearances grind your crank to fit the acl's.
If you do this you will use nothing but acl's in this engine (since you have ground your crank to fit this application.) The nice thing is, next time you have to do bearings your clearances should be right on when using the acl's.
