AC on full blast, engine stalls, AC off, engine is fine...????? 1998 Civic DX
Heres the low down, I've read and search everywhere and seems everyone has this problem. Im thinking its my alternator aka ALT. What do you guys think?
When I start the car and turn AC to 4 which is full blast the car stalls.
Start car and AC off car idles fine.
Start car and AC on 3 not full blast, car is fine.
Start car and pull battery out, car still on/idels fine. So I go inside and turn AC to full blast, engine stalls.
While AC is on it blows COLD, so this tells my the compressor is not DEAD, if it was it would not blow COLD.
Last would be a bad ALTERNATOR? which is fairly new from autozone, which is a rebuilt.
What do you guys think? Thanks for the help.

That's a wierd one, but it sounds like your not getting a full voltage to your electronics from your alternator/battery setup, get the volt meter out and watch the battery voltage when you flip the fan to full, also see if it does it with headlights/wipers/heater on etc instead of a/c. The charining voltage on a good battery/lternator setup should be 14.2+ at any load within the laternators capabilities. The ecu is very voltage sensitive and if it drops beloww 10vdc it may be you need to check out the charing/alternator/belts/grounds/terminals.
