Default AC Compression Belt

I got a 99 Civic DX and im not sure if i could run my car w/o the ac belt. I just put a turbo in and have to take it out but my boy says that i have to put a shorter belt in its place, or just run it w/o a belt like the guy i bought the kit from told me?

Thanx HT

You can't run a shorter a/c belt, and I'm not really sure why you would want to? but you can run it without one.
