AC Belt how-to?
Need to replace the wife's AC belt on her 98 LX auto. Is there a how-to somewhere, preferably with pictures? She'll be trading in this car soon so I'm not gonna buy a Helms, but it'd be great it someone could scan in the appropriate pages.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: (CXHatchback)
you take the drivers wheel off. take the plastic sheild off. you will see the crank pulley. On the top of the motor by the cam gear cover if you look down you will see the tensenoir. you loosen that and the belt should come off. i am not sur if the power steering and alt belt have to come off first. But this is the way that my ex is setup. let me know if you have any questions. It not that hard i did it when i did my pulleys.

You have to take the A/C slash engine mount of to get the belt on. just put the front of the car on jack stands, then just support the engine with the jack. that takes the pressure of the mount so you can unbolt it. Not really that difficult.

Ill find my Hayes book and get you the exact instructions. You do not have to take an engine mount off to replace an a/c belt. The only time to remove an engine mount is either to replace the timing belt, to replace the engine, or to replace the mount itself.

correct but youll still have to remove the a/c bracket mount that is connected to the beam. just jack up the driver side and turn the wheel to the left. remove the plastic inner lining and unscrew the 2 bolts from the ac bracket that mounts under the beam. after the mount is loose, use a pry bar to give a small gap so you can slip the belt thru. hope that helps
