Default AC air conditioner pressure lines

top: new line
bottom: old line

My high pressure line (discharge hose) in my 94 civic was leaking by the crimps on the hose and I replaced it with another from what I was told a 95 civic. The writing on the "new" hose says r134a but the port is bigger compared to my old one. If the new hose is from an 92-93 civic (R12) will the guys servicing my AC have any problems with the different ports?

If they dont have an adapter or something, then probably. I'm trying to remember if they are different sizes...
Is the diameter the same on both of the fittings?

I just took out my AC. My hose looked like the bottom one. Strange.

well, if you're freon is out, you might as well switch to 134.
problem is this, you have the 134 hose on one side, and not the other.
no problem, get the 134 recharge kit.
It comes with the special nozzles which you only need one, since you already have the 134 hose on the other.
Then tell the guy to evacuate all the original oil and recharge it with ester for 134a

92-93 civics are R12. The switch to R134a started in 94 and later. The bottom hose pictured is my old '94 R134a hose. The top one is supposively from a 95 which should be the same thing as my old, but in this case it isn't.

Basically what I'm asking is, can someone confirm that the top hose is from a 92-93 civic.

You can drain the oil from the compressor by removing the 10mm bolt on the bottom of the compressor next to the pulley clotch.
