Default Abs pump motor relay

So I have a 1996 Civic sedan ex and my abs pump motor relay keep burning out. I had this problem a week ago but luckily I had a parts Civic laying around and stole its relay and my Civic started up fine but now the relay burnt again and my civic is not cranking at all. Anyone know what going on?

This is my late model 1995 civic ex

I think you mean, late model 1996 civic ex. 95 has thinner head lights and no grill.

Have you considered that something other than the ABS relay is bad?

ABS problem will not prevent starting. You could unplug the ABS harness until you get the other problems with the car sorted.

If the socket in the fuse/relay box is melted the new relay will burn up. You have to replace both the box and the relay at the same time.

yup, they start releasing the next model year at the end of the preveous year. Example, a 2020 model year will be released late this year (2019). I know it dowan’t help your predicament but this way you source the right info for your correct vehicle.

What else could it be I had this problem and changing that relay fixed it. I might have an exposed wire somewhere........

Two possibilities -- Pure coincidence or the relay you replaced was not an ABS relay. Post pictures of installed relay.

your registration/title wouldn't say 11/95 now would it.

The brief "fix" you experienced after replacing the relay indicated that the problem is intermittent not that the relay was bad and the replacement blew again.

Do basic troubleshooting 101 when the engine won't start: spark & fuel. Any CEL codes?

Is that 20amp fuse distorted or is it just the picture?
If it's heat distorted, that might also be a clue in all of this?

Pull all three of those fuses out and set them aside. Forget that that box is even there for a while while you troubleshoot the rest of the car. It will run without those fuses. It will even stop without those fuses, though with conventional brake action, not ABS.

If it wasn't even cranking over before, I doubt it will with the fuses out.
But please do proceed and check.

If it's not cranking over, that's the first thing that needs to be figured out.
After that it's the items muellersfan stated if it begins cranking but won't fire.

I didn't mean to side track you with the possible damaged fuse.
Was more just making an observation that may need to be addressed further down the road.
More important things to focus on right now, the no crank situation.

So I found my problem it looks like battery acid fell on my abs pump wires and they were shorting out so I replaced the abs relay and covered the wires and it started right up

You can see the wires that we're exposed we're covered with black tape
